We serve every family in our clinic with love and connection through our most valuable gift: time with their provider. Through this connection, we become a part of the healing journey for each child.
Chrysalis Children's Clinic strives to deliver clinically excellent, restorative care to every child in our practice. Through our Restorative Care Model, every child has the opportunity to move from trauma to restoration through our child centered care connections. With each care connection, the physical, developmental, psychosocial, nutritional, spiritual and community needs of the child are supported.

We provide pediatric primary care services for all children in foster care with Mercy Care DCS CHP insurance. This includes well exams, sick visits, urgent care needs, and primary care psychiatric needs. We strive to include restorative care with every visit, which includes addressing the physical, developmental, psychosocial, nutritional, spiritual , and community support needs for each child.
Our founder, Angela Cabrera, APRN, CPNP-PC, began her journey as a pediatric nurse practitioner in a grant funded child protection clinic with the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Over the last 19 years, she has continued working with children in the foster care system in primary care and hospital settings. Through this journey, Angela witnessed the need for more time, support, and education for children and foster families in their medical home. In 2020, the vision of a Restorative Care Medical Home was born, where every child who had experienced child abuse and neglect would receive comprehensive care from a trauma informed perspective.
